In this time of enhanced enforcement of anti-immigration policies, Benedictines for Peace is aware of the immense financial burden placed on our neighbors whose loved ones are taken into custody. We have established the Erie Legal Retainer Fund to alleviate the costs associated with accessing an attorney. 100% of donations to the Fund go to paying legal fees for ICE detainees in our area.
Your gift to this Fund will help to ensure that detained immigrants in Northwestern PA receive quick access to legal representation, regardless of their status. The fund will offset costs associated with initial consultations, retaining representation, filing habeas corpus petitions, and other efforts to protect their rights. (This fund cannot pay for bonds.)
